Curry and Zoo

In the picture are the socks Daisy bought Rory for his birthday on a Chelsea flag. Rory's birthday was midweek and I had time off to spend with the kids before they returned to school. The half term holiday is normally a week but there were extra days tagged on for teacher training.

The day of his birthday they were due back in school so we had a day out the day before. We went to a local zoo.

There was hardly anyone there and it looked a sorry place. The buildings and set-up was very 1960's. The animals all looked thoroughly bored and fed-up. It becomes harder to see reasons to keep large mammals, like lions and tigers, in such small ranges.

On his birthday, Rory was up early and we all got up as well to watch him open his cards and presents. The cards yielded £80 in cash and cheques so he was well pleased even before opening his presents.

In the evening we went to an Indian restaurant for a curry. We tried a new place and it was ok but in my view not as good as our regular "Indian".

Next morning, Daisy was corpsing and making noises as if she was being sick. I thought "I know where this is heading". As I left for work the wife was less than happy that I was walking out of the situation. I thought she was just to get a day off school but it turned out she is getting more hassle than just the boy she was talking about two weeks ago. The school have been informed and hopefully it will ease things. I've told her she needs to "act" as if she is full of confidence and people will back off.

Events

I came home one evening to find Rory wearing the complete Chelsea kit, shirt, shorts and socks!! So much for my theory that he'd never wear it! The socks in the picture have had to be washed before I could take the photo and as I type he is wearing them again.
